You are right Anand. I do mention in my post that the thing that made this easy for me is my job at Google. If I did not have this option, I would not have moved back. A lot of us moved to USA at a time when the wage difference between India and USA used to be 10X dollar to dollar. A select few companies and select few sectors have narrowed that gap, but there are still a lot of professions and companies where the salary difference will be significantly high to make the move impractical. If we look at Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, unless our basic needs are met, we are not going to be able to worry about emotional needs.
